Service Pack 3 for the Anybus Bridge and the Anybus Bolt has now been released, further strengthening the robustness of the Anybus Wireless products, as well as increasing ease of use.

Wireless LAN today supports multiple mission-critical applications within the industry. Typically, the demands on a wireless network vary between different applications. Some require high throughput, while others require wide coverage.

However, one thing is common for all applications: the need for robustness. This latest release is yet another step in the Anybus mission to provide the market with true industrial-grade wireless connections.

“When introducing SP3 we are taking yet another step to broaden the application scope of the Anybus wireless products.
With the addition of 802.11n with MIMO and 802.11r we are now also targeting AGV-applications (Automated Guided Vehicle) where increased link robustness and fast roaming are key features for success. The addition of Bluetooth low energy also enables new interesting applications with for example wireless sensors.”, says Martin Falkman, product manager for the Anybus Wireless products.

Added features to the Anybus Wireless offering:

  • Bluetooth Low Energy with mapping to AT-commands facilitating stable low energy wireless connectivity.
  • MIMO + 802.11n (n-rates) increasing data transfer speed and making connections more robust and resistant to reflections.
  • 802.11r (fast roaming) for increased speed and stability in roaming.
  • Save and Restore to/from file enabling simple back up and duplication of product configurations.
  • Firmware Update via WiFi/Bluetooth, i.e. settings are remembered during firmware update.

Bridge industrial Ethernet or serial cables over Bluetooth® or WLAN

The Anybus Wireless Bridge supports up to 400 meters of reliable wireless communication and can communicate via both Bluetooth or WLAN. It is ideal for replacing Ethernet cabling in hard-to-reach or hazardous locations.
